Le 11 Novembre dernier Bethany Joy Lenz a été interviewée par la journaliste Jada Montemarano sur le tapis rouge du gala « Baby Ball » organisé par l’association Adopt Together.
Elle a annoncé vouloir adopter un enfant un jour et s’est confiée sur des projets sur lesquels elle travaille en ce moment dont le tournage de la série « Colony » ainsi que la préparation d’une comédie musicale! Retrouvez ci-dessous l’interview traduite dans son intégralité.
Bonjour je suis Jada. Qu’est-ce qui vous a donné envie de venir au Baby Ball ce soir?
« Je suis une très bonne amie de Hank et Suzann et en fait j’espère adopter un jour donc je pense que c’est une cause merveilleuse sur laquelle je me suis un peu renseignée, et vous savez vous allez sur Internet tard le soir et vous vous demandez quelle est la procédure et j’ai commencé à regarder et ça a l’air tellement déroutant et tellement difficile. Et j’ai parlé avec beaucoup de gens qui ont adopté ou qui sont en milieu de procédure et ça prends tellement de temps et j’adore le fait qu’il essayent de réduire un peu la paperasse pour rendre ça plus accessible pour que ces enfants aient un foyer aimant. »
Et pourquoi avez-vous personnellement envie d’adopter?
« Je ne sais pas. C’est juste en moi. Vous savez j’adore vraiment être maman. J’ai une fille de cinq ans et la maternité me vient naturellement. Pour moi ce n’est pas quelque chose qui est… Ma fille rends ça facile, c’est une enfant géniale… mais ce n’est pas quelque chose avec laquelle je lutte ou qui me tourmente vous savez. Il y a des hauts et des bas mais ça me semble naturel et j’ai commencé à me dire vous savez « je peux faire ça pour quelqu’un d’autre ». J’ai besoin que ce soit à moi. Je peux le faire. C’est une longue réponse… »
Non c’est génial. Et d’un côté professionnel, c’est un peu l’année des réunions, des retours et des nouvelles saisons. Vous pouvez voir « Gilmore Girls » sur Netflix maintenant, et ils ont fait « Fuller House », vous pensez qu’il y aura un jour un nouvel épisode des « Frères Scott »? Ou une série prochainement?
« Oui peut-être dans plusieurs années. Je peux imaginer ça dans genre 20 ans à peu près. On pourrait faire ça. Je pense qu’on est tous en train de travailler sur d’autres choses donc vous savez… oui, peut-être plus tard. »
Et qu’est-ce qui vous enthousiasme par rapport à des projets sur lesquels vous travaillez maintenant?
« Je travaille sur « Colony » sur USA. Je viens juste de finir ça et c’est génial. Je vis dans un bunker sous terre et je combat avec des flingues et c’est génial. Ça a été ma chose préférée. Et je viens juste de finir « American Gothic » pour CBS et je m’entraîne pour une comédie musicale maintenant. Et oui je reste occupée. »
Vous faites tout! Qu’est-ce qui vous a donné envie d’aller du côté de la musique?
« J’ai grandi en faisant des comédies musicales. C’était sympa de vous rencontrer. »
